PHP / Web Developer (Calgary, Canada)

Do you enjoy developing high-end websites and web applications, learning new technologies, and solving problems?  Cornerstone presents an exciting opportunity for a driven and talented PHP developer to join our Calgary team.   You will work with the latest technologies while developing CMS and E-Commerce driven websites, often developing custom functionality.

Responsibilities:

  • Implementation and configuration of CMS and E-Commerce systems (Magento, WordPress and Expression Engine)
  • Working with front-end developers to integrate front-end interfaces with back-end systems
  • Development of custom functionality and custom modules/plug-ins
  • Custom application development, maintenance and support
  • Functional testing and quality assurance
  • Convert requirements into technical and functional specifications
  • Researching solutions for functional requirements
  • Provide development estimates

Skills/Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate will be a driven and resourceful individual with strong problem solving skills and high attention-to-detail
  • At least five years of website development experience
  • Advanced experience working with PHP and MySQL
  • Strong relational database skills
  • Experience working with Magento, WordPress or similar systems
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving abilities
  • Some knowledge of front end development is desirable
  • Server configuration and management experience is desirable

Front-end Web Developer (Calgary, Canada)

Do you enjoy developing high-end websites, learning new technologies, and solving problems?  If so, then this is the opportunity for you.  Cornerstone presents an exciting opportunity for a driven and talented front-end developer to join our Calgary team.   You will work with the latest technologies while developing CMS and E-Commerce driven websites, often working with some of Calgary’s top designers and creative agencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Development of websites from provided designs
  • Assist with the implementation and configuration of CMS and E-Commerce systems
  • Working with back-end developers to integrate front-end interfaces with back-end systems
  • Provision of training and support to clients
  • Researching solutions for functional requirements

Skills/Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate will be a driven, resourceful and adaptable
    individual with strong client relationship, problem solving skills, and
    high attention-to-detail
  • At least three years of website development experience
  • Advanced understanding of XHTML, CSS and JQuery
  • Good knowledge of usability principles
  • Good knowledge of Photoshop and image optimization
  • Some experience working with CMS implementations would be beneficial
  • Some experience working with PHP, ASP or .NET would be beneficial
  • Some knowledge of coding for search engine optimization would be beneficial
